I THINK I just found my personal favorite designer for next year's summer collection. Just yesterday I had my eyes on a fir tree green blouse and a knitted sweater whose colors I really adore but the shapes weren't the ones I was actually looking for. I'm very much into all shades of green right now - ... who knows why!? But back to the collection by Malene Birger. I think those pieces are just perfect and by now I already fell in love with some of the pieces that walked down the catwalk in Copenhagen the last week. I really like the classy style, combined with colors like that fir tree green, skyblue/azure, pink, peaches, burgundy/claret, the nudies, whites, greys and of course the blacks and metallics. It's color blocking but in a way more naturally and classy. The cuts of the flowing fabrics are very clean but absolutely feminin. The collection is reminiscent of the style of Jil Sander combined with a modern 70s touch, which is an advantage for me. And don't forget: the upcoming seasons are once again all about pointed shoes/heels!!! (What I personally really adore!) If some of you could please tell me where to get that fabulous fir tree green leather pants!? Oooops ... did I just write this? ;) I mean I really wouldn't mind calling these pants my own plus some other pieces of Malene Birger's SS12 collection ... we will see. Later!
